As it is known to us, the BIOS password is useful in protecting computer safety and can prevent other people from changing BIOS settings as well as booting the computer’operating system. However, what should we do if we forget the BIOS password to our computers? This article will recommend the following 3 ways for you to remove the BIOS password<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Way 1: Remove the BIOS Password by Removing the CMOS Battery<\/h2>\n

Step 1. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cable.<\/p>\n

Step 2. Open the computer’host case, locate the motherboard and find out the small coin-sized silver CMOS battery as the following picture shows.<\/p>\n

Step 3. Remove the CMOS Battery carefully if it isn’t soldered to the motherboard and then put it back after 10-30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Step 4. Boot the computer. If the “CMOS Checksum Error-Defaults Loaded” message is displayed, it indicates that the BIOS password has been reset successfully.<\/p>\n
