This guide describes how to reset a forgotten Windows password and Windows 8 Microsoft account password with Windows Password Genius Advanced. This guide applies to different versions of Windows including Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP, and Windows Server 2012/2011/2008/2003/2000.
Step 1: Download and Install Windows Password Genius Advanced on an accessible computer.
Step 2: Create Windows password recovery disk.
There are two ways available for you to create password recovery disk, USB and CD/DVD.
When Windows password reset disk is created successfully, it is like this.
Step 3: Set the locked computer to reboot from USB drive or CD/DVD ROM.
After password recovery disk burning successfully, unplug it and insert it to the locked computer and restart the locked computer. And set locked computer boot from USB or CD/DVD drive.

Step 4: Start Windows Password Recovery.
After your computer boots from USB or CD/DVD successfully, Windows Password Genius Advanced starts and shows as below. You can select a Windows system and a user account (local user account or Microsoft account), and then click Reset Password to set a new password for the selected user account. You can also click Add User to create a new user account.
Tips: If your Windows system is Windows 8/8.1, there may be local user accounts and Microsoft account shown in user list. Microsoft account is user account you have ever set with email address for Windows 8 logon.
Moreover, if your Windows system is Windows 10/8/7/vista/xp, the password will be set to blank. If your Widnows system is Windows Server 2012/2008/2003/2000, the program will generate a default password and set it to the selected user.
Step 5: Reboot computer.
Click Reboot, click Yes and eject password reset disk to restart locked computer. You will see you can type new password or don't need to type in any password to access computer.
