Part 1: Open Windows 10 Search Panel

It is easy to open Windows 10 search panel. Generally, you can find the search icon located on the taskbar. With a simple click on the search icon, the search panel appears.

In some computer, the search box is located at the bottom left corner of the screen. With a simple click on it, the Search Panel is open.

Moreover, there is a quick way to reach the Search panel. You can utilize the keyboard shortcut Windows key and S key to open Search panel.

Part 2: Control the Web Search Result in Windows 10

There are two ways for you to deal with the web search result. When you turn on search online and include web results, it is possible for you to see the web result alongside your local search results when you search something using the search box.

Way 1: Show or Hide Web Result in Search from Settings.

Step 1: Click on Windows search box on the search box.

Step 2: Click the Settings icon (it looks like a small gear) in the pop-up window.

Step 3: Toggle the switch under Search online and include web results to either turn it on or off according to your preference.

Way 2: Set Web Search Result via Group Policy Editor

This method can be used for Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise or Education Editions.

Step 1: Open Local Group Policy Editor.

Step 2: Access Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search.

Step 3: On the right pane, find the settings named Do not allow web search. Double-click it.

Step 4: After that, you can choose the Enabled option to turn off web search. Or select the Disabled option to allow web search. Finally, click the Apply and OK button to apply the change.

Part 3: Hide or Show Search Box or Search Icon in Windows 10

If you cannot find the search box on your taskbar, it is hidden and you can change the settings to show it.

Just go to right-click the taskbar and select Search. If you want to show search box on taskbar, you can select the option—Show search box. To show the search icon, you can select the option-Show search icon. Also, you can select the Hidden option to hide the search box and icon.

Part 4: Set Best Match for Search in Windows 10

Step 1: Type something in the search box on taskbar.

Step 2: Click the ellipsis icon on the right of Best match in the list.

Step 3: Choose an option from Apps, Settings, Files and Web according to your need.
