Activate Android Device Manager surely could help you to lock or erase data on Android device remotely. But if you want to disable the features provided by Android Device Manager, you would have to deactivate android device manager on available Android device.

Steps to deactivate or disable Android Device Manager

Step 1: Tap Settings on Android phone, and select All.

Step 2: Choose Security and find Device administrators under "Device administration".

Step 3: Click Device administrators to open it. You would see Android Device Manager is active now, which allow Android Device Manager to lock or erase a lost Android device.

Step 4: Choose the Android Device Manager option, and click Deactivate button on Device administrator screen.

Then you would return back and be prompted Android Device Manager has been Inactive.
