After turning on Mouse Keys in your Windows computer, you may find that the speed of using the number keys on the numeric keyboard to move your mouse pointer around the screen is a little slow or fast for you. Under such circumstance, you can set up Mouse Keys to accelerate or decelerate it. And two methods to realize the goal on Windows 10 computer are illustrated below.
Video guide on how to set up Mouse Keys in Windows 10:
Way 1: Set up Mouse Keys in PC settings.
Step 1: Open PC settings.
Step 2: Select Ease of Access.
Step 3: Choose Mouse, and tap the switch under the setting called Hold down Ctrl to speed up and Shift to slow down.
By means of this method, you can simultaneously hold down the Ctrl key and press a number key on the numeric keyboard to accelerate the pointer moving speed, or hold down the Shift key and press a number key to decelerate it.
Way 2: Set up Mouse Keys in Control Panel.
Step 1: Access Control Panel.
Step 2: Open Ease of Access.
Step 3: Click Change how your mouse works to move on.
Step 4: Choose Set up Mouse Keys.
Step 5: In Pointer speed settings, move the scales to the left or the right so as to change the top speed and acceleration, or select Hold down CTRL to speed up and SHIFT to slow down and tap OK.
Tip: Supposing that you change the pointer speed by moving the scales, you will find that the pointer speed is changed accordingly by use of the number keys only.
