Tip 1: Add a microSD Card to Expand Android Internal Memory

It is the fast and efficient way to expand Android storage space without PC by adding memory card to your Android. As Android 6.0 marshmallow version and its upper version supports adding the microSD card as internal memory, you can add a microSD card directly into the Android phone which has the microSD card slot. The detailed steps are shown below:

Step 1: Plug the microSD card into the Android phone microSD card slot.

Step 2: Format the microSD card.
After you succeed in installing the microSD card, a prompt would appear in the drop-down list of the phone. You should just click SET UP option to bring up the Set up your SD card interface. In the coming interface, just check Use as internal storage and click Next.

In the coming interface, you should just click ERASE&FORMAT button. When a prompt asks you whether you want to erase all the data stored on the SD card, just click Format to continue the process.

When the formatting process is finished, you can find that your total size of the internal memory becomes bigger and it is the summation of the preview internal memory and the microSD card.

Attention: This tip only applies to the Android 6.0 marshmallow or upper version. The earlier version of Android may not offer the formatting SD card as internal memory option.

Tips 2: Free up Space on Android Phone

If you have installed many apps on Android but some of them are useless, you can delete the useless apps and clear their history to free up space for Android phone.

1. Remove the unwanted apps and clear their data

You can tap Settings > Apps and have an overview of all apps installed on your phone. Then choose the app you want to remove and hit “Uninstall” or “Clear Data”.

On your Android phone, go to Settings > Storage > Cached data and then it will pop out a message “This will clear cached data for all apps”. You can tap the OK button and wait for the cleaning process end.

The cloud storage can help you gain more space for Android running. You can move the larger files, image gallery, videos and etc. to cloud, such as Google Drive and Dropbox. Tips 4: Use USB OTG to Increase Internal Memory

USB OTG, shorten from USB On-The-Go, enables USB devices to be connected other USB devices. You can connect a USB flash drive to the Android phone and copy files from phone to the USB storage.

Firstly, you need to connect a USB flash drive to the full-size USB female end of the adapter. And connect OTG cable to your Android phone. Then, swipe down from the top to display the notification bar and tap USB Drive. Next, tap Internal Storage and get all files listed orderly on your phone. You can choose the files you want to move and tap the three dots button. In the coming steps, choose Copy and go to USB drive and tap Done. After that, you can delete the files which you have moved to the USB drive to gain more Android storage space.

Tips 5: Factory Reset Android Phone

Factory reset an android phone, known as master reset, is a software restore feature to set an electronic device to its original system state by erasing all of the information. Doing this will effectively erase all of the data, settings, and applications that were previously on the device and you can find that your phone memory is totally free as that of a new phone. To do this, you should first navigate to Settings and find the option called Backup&Reset. Then in the coming interface, you should just choose the Factory data reset option.
