With the following two methods, you can add Microsoft Edge to your Windows 10 desktop.
Step 1: Open Start Menu.
Step 2: Click and drag the tile named Microsoft Edge to the desktop.

Or you can tap the Start button on desktop, right-click Microsoft Edge in the menu and select Pin to taskbar.

This shortcut will open Microsoft Edge directly—even if it's not your default browser.
Step 1: On the desktop empty place, right-click and choose New> Shortcut from the context menu.
Step 2: In the location box, enter: %windir%\explorer.exe microsoft-edge: . Then click the Next button.

Step 3: Name the shortcut, e.g., Microsoft Edge, then click Finish.
