Steps to hide apps I use most often at the top of the app list on Win 8:

Step 1: Go to PC settings.

Step 2: In PC settings, open Share and click the switch under the setting called "Show apps I use most often at the top of the app list" to turn it off.

Tip: You can also move the slider (see the following picture) on the switch to the left to turn off the above-mentioned setting.
