How to Hide and Show Desktop Background on Windows 10

By hiding desktop background on your computer, you can make things on the screen easier to see, as shown in the following screen shot. As for how to realize it, this article introduces two methods to hide and show desktop background on Windows 10 computer.

Way 1: Hide or show desktop background in PC settings.

Step 1: Open PC settings.

Step 2: Enter Ease of Access settings.

Choose Ease of Access on the left.

Step 3: Hide or show desktop background image.

To hide desktop background image, click the Display option on the left panel. After that, scroll down and toggle off the switch under Show desktop background image.

To show the desktop background image, you can toggle on the switch.

Way 2: Hide or show desktop background in Control Panel.

Step 1: Open Control Panel.

Step 2: Access Optimize visual display settings.

Click Optimize visual display under Ease of Access.

Step 3: Hide or show desktop background.

1. In the window titled "Make the computer easier to see", choose Remove background images (where available) and tap OK to hide the background.

2. Deselect Remove background images (where available) and click OK to show the background.
