Open Folders in Separate or Same Window on Windows 10

By default, when you open a folder (e.g. File Explorer, This PC…) and its subfolders on Windows computer, they are placed in the same window. Steps to set opening folders in separate or same window on Windows 10:

Step 1: Open File Explorer Options (or Folder Options).

Step 2: Choose a folder browsing option.

In the General settings, choose Open each folder in its own window or Open each folder in the same window, and then click OK.

For example, if Open each folder in its own window is selected, you can see that folders are opened in separate window from the following photo.
