Steps to disable a driver in Windows 8/8.1:
Step 1: Open Device Manager.
Step 2: Double-click a device, right-tap its driver and select Disable in the context menu.
Step 3: Tap Yes in the pop-up dialog box to confirm the operation.
Immediately, the selected driver has been disabled, which is implied by the pop-up small black arrow.
Tip: To enable the driver, right-click it and choose Enable in the context menu, as shown in the following picture.
