Now many of us will use a computer to surf the internet, watch movies and enjoy the latest Games. As technology developed, the graphic card can bring more and more fantastic images. But sometime you will receive prompted message that your graphic card doesn't match the graphic driver which can be called compatibility issues. If you have never upgraded your graphic driver before, the problem may be resolved after you upgrade your graphic driver to the latest one. Or when you have an older graphic card, but you have installed the latest graphic driver, the problem would be done after you roll back the graphic driver.

Before we begin, please download a copy of your current latest graphic driver as a backup just in case something goes wrong. It's best to keep it in an external media drive such as a USB flash drive. Here we just show the steps to fix the problem of the graphic card drivers from the two top manufacturers Nvidia and AMD. For the other types of graphic, you should just adapt our guidelines to your situation. We demonstrate 2 ways to solve the graphic compatibility issue.

  1. Rollback Graphics Driver from Device Manager
  2. Install the Compatible Graphic Driver

But sometimes you may find that the button Roll Back Driver is grayed out. So you can't roll back the driver because you have never backed up your driver before. The recommended advice is to download a graphic driver that is compatible with your current graphic card after consulting the manufacturer of your graphic or professionals. Then we can go to the process to install the compatible graphic driver.

Step 1: Do the same steps mentioned above to find your current graphic driver and click the Uninstall button.

 uninstall the driver

Step 2: Restart your computer, if it comes to a black screen, just force it to restart. On the next boot, your Windows may look as it did the first time you installed it. Now, go to install the compatible driver that you've downloaded by pluging the USB flash drive.

Attention: If you are using a very old computer with a very classic graphic card, there may be a slim chance that your computer will never recognize your graphic card and result in a blank display. Don't attempt to do this if you are with one of those old systems.
