Whether you've just installed Windows 10 or purchased a new laptop/desktop, one of the first things you'll want to do is connect it to the internet. Windows 10 offers several ways to set up internet access, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet (wired), and mobile hotspot/tethering. This guide walks you through each method step by step.

First, make sure you have the right equipment:
If you're using a separate modem and router:
When you are using Windows laptop, it is popular to connect it to the Wi-Fi network.
Step 1: Go to the bottom right corner of your computer and click hit the Network icon.
Step 2: You can see a list of available Wi-Fi networks here.
Step 3: Select your Wi-Fi network name and click Connect. After that, enter the Wi-Fi password and click the Next button. Soon, your computer will connect to the Wi-Fi internet and you can search online.

For a stable and faster internet connection, you can connect the Windows computer to Ethernet network. Go to find the Ethernet cable and build the connection between your computer and the router or modem. After that, your computer will automatically detect and connect to the network.

Some ISPs still provide a username and password for broadband connections.
Step 1: Open Settings and choose Network & Internet > Dial-up > Set up a new connection.

Step 2: Choose Connect to the Internet and click the Next button.

Step 3: Click Broadband (PPPoE) to continue.

Step 4: You will be asked to enter the username and password from your Internet service provider. Finally, click the Connect button to connect your computer to the internet.

Setting up an internet connection in Windows 10 is straightforward, whether you're using Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or PPPoE. Once connected, you can browse the web, update your system, and install apps seamlessly.
