In the latest version 71 for Windows and 72 for MacOS&Linux, Firefox provides the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode, which can turn the HTML5 video of a webpage into a floating and movable window. The Picture-in-Picture mode can be enabled by simply clicking the blue PIP toggle while moving your mouse over the video. With this function, you can work on different tabs in your Firefox browser but not miss your favorite programs. However, not all Firefox users need or like this PIP mode. If you are one of them and want to disable the Picture-in-Picture mode in Firefox, the following methods can give you a hand.

1. Disable Firefox's Picture-in-Picture Mode in Options

Step 1: Launch Firefox and click the menu button in the upper-right corner. Then select Options in the drop-down menu.

Step 2: In the General section, scroll down the page to the Browsing option. After that, uncheck Enable picture-in-picture video controls. Now, the Picture-in-Picture mode has been disabled successfully.

2. Disable Firefox's Picture-in-Picture Mode in Config

Step 1: Run Firefox and search about:config in the address bar.

Step 2: Click Accept the Risk and Continue to access the Config page.

Step 3: In the search bar, enter picture-in-picture and the related option will be shown. Then, locate to media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.enabled and double-click it to change it from ture to false. After that, the PIP mode will be turned off instantly.
